Biography

Jeff Lydy was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1972. He was admitted to the Michigan Bar in 2002. Jeff’s practice areas include commercial litigation for plaintiffs and defendants, including breach of commercial contract claims. He regularly practices in state as well as federal courts. Jeff also handles professional liability cases, for plaintiffs and defendants, including legal malpractice, medical malpractice, and accounting malpractice. Jeff handles the defense for injuries occurring in retail establishments, such as convenience stores and drug stores. He also represents both plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury matters such as auto accidents, work place and premises liability accidents.

Jeff has lectured on a multitude of legal subjects, including most recently on expert witnesses in injury litigation. He has served as a mediator and arbitrator on numerous occasions. Jeff is also admitted to the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Ohio, the U.S. Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit, and the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Michigan.

He currently serves on local governmental boards, and is a former president of the Sylvania, Ohio Board of Education, and former member of the Sylvania Board of Zoning Appeals as well as other educational committees. He is Board Certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Jeff has a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from the University of Toledo where he also received his JD. Jeff describes himself as a court litigant, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in commercial and injury litigation in Ohio and Michigan.
